Tucked away in the Pocantico Hills countryside in New York, this quaint church contains some amazing works of art from two of the most famous artists of the 20th-century. Henri Matisse designed the church's stained glass rose window shortly before his death in 1954. It was his last work of art. Marc Chagall designed a Good Samaritan window in his honor of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. in 1960. He was commissioned to create eight more gorgeous stained glass windows for the church, each in honor of a Rockefeller family member. The amazing story of the windows, and how they came to be, "is the story of relationships among distinguished patrons and collectors of modern art, and two great 20th-century artists."
Built by Rockefeller in 1921, the church is a one story neo-Gothic style building with fieldstone foundation and walls and a slate covered, highly pitched gable roof. In 1930-1931, a parish hall was added to the east end of the church.
On May 6, 2006, the church was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
