The Red Bank Train station is one of the coolest in the nation. The Architecture of the Station House is a fine example of one of the last remaining Stick-Style station houses that was built by the New York and Long Branch Railroad in the 1870s.
This beautiful historical landmark is a fully functioning hub for Red Bank New Jersey Transit, thanks to extensive restoration. Built in 1876 by the Central Railroad of New Jersey, which operated the New York and Long Branch Railroad in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Railroad, the station is typical of a Victorian-style design used for four stations by the now-defunct railroad.
Red Bank’s station was the site of a historic visit by the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of England in 1939 as they traveled by train.
