Description
Condemned | Fine Art Urban Industrial Photograph by Colleen Kammerer ~
The Michelin Tire Company was built in 1907 in Milltown, NJ. In 1930 the Michelin Tire Company closed its doors, affecting the community psychologically and financially. Milltown depended on the company for "wages, entertainment and support." During the time of the Great Depression, most of the French workers return to their homeland. The buildings were bought and sold several times, they now remain abandoned, a reminder of a once booming industry. Today this old factory waits to be redeveloped.
