Carousel at Keansburg Amusemant Park:
1880 Charles Looff Carousel, records show, it was moved to Keansburg in 1913 from Coney Island by C.I. Mangels. It is one of three carousels in the county and one of 284 operating carousels in the country.
The carousel house itself was brought to Keansburg by horse and carriage in 1899 from the National Export Exposition in Philadelphia. Its interior roof is painted in rainbow colors. The carousels house has been altered a bit due to a fire in the 1950's.

Revisiting and leaving comments on artworks I have favorited. Love the light and composition of this beautiful painted pony on this carousel! This carousel horse takes the spotlight front and center as it seems to come at the viewer with it's wild mane flying with the wind and front legs extended in full 'gallop' . The soft diffuse light illuminates the carousel quite nicely and gives it a look and feel of a fond memory of the amusement ride.

Ooops I just saw the description.. I just don't recall a Lloof horse looking like this, the neck and mane remind me of an Illions the mane would have originally been painted gold. I love carousels!
