Details of the Medusa window and gated doors from the old carousel house captured by photographer Colleen Kammerer. Look through the carousel gates to see the hidden faces painted inside the carousel house at Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Asbury Park's famed Casino Carousel House now stands empty. Carousel #87 from the Philadelphia Toboggan Company was installed in the ornate copper and glass Carousel House in 1932 and would run for more than half a century. The historic carousel was bought in 1990 and moved to Family Kingdom Park in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where it now operates with fiberglass replicas of the original wooden horses.

The carousel house, was recently renovated with new glass, iron gates, and a new roof and cupola. The building occasionally serves as a host to local theater groups and will continue to be a part of Asbury Park's revitalization project....
