Lovely.. Oh and spelled Looff wrong earlier and did not know how to edit my comment. There is nothing that breaks my heart more, than when a beautiful carousel is dismantled and the ponies etc are auctioned off. It is such a shame. These beautiful hand carved works of art are part of our heritage in the US and a reminder of the amazing work immigrant artists brought to our shores! What is even more sad, is there are carousels, horses and all that were either bulldozed into the ground or into nearby ponds or lakes.. it makes me feel ill just to think about it and to realize that no one cared about this amazing art form. UGH!
