A box of vintage Arko Agates ready for play.
Arko had several names for their marbles. An opaque corkscrew in clear glass, is known as a "Spiral." If the marble has an opaque corkscrew in transparent colored glass it's an "Onyx." Other names used to describe corkscrews are "single-twist," "double-twist" and "triple-twist", which are used to describe how many times the corkscrew spirals around. The terms "snake," "ribbon" and "auger," are also used to describe the look of the corkscrew itself.
