"The First Game Statue"
The Birthplace of College Football -November 6, 1869:
Rutgers played in the first ever collegiate football game in 1869 and beat fellow in-state school, Princeton, 6-4.
This statue, commemorating that game, stands guard in front of High Point Solutions stadium on the Scarlet Walk. Football players walk down the brick lined path and touch the foot of the statute while hearing the cheers of fans and the sound of the Rutgers fight song,
